Join us to delight in no less than four vintages spanning four decades of famed Lynch Bages of Bordeaux, along with an Haut Bages Averous and even a Lynch Bages white! We pay homage to a Bordeaux that has steadily climbed in the estimation of both the public and experts alike over the years. Recently Robert Parker reassessed many older vintages and decided that Lynch Bages was even better than he had thought. We call the resulting scarcity and increase in value the "Parker effect."
Tonight you will dine at the Birchrunville Cafe and be treated to an amazing chef's cuisine created just for us. We have been here before and it is always a fabulous meal. Chef Francis Pascale has a custom menu for us which includes the following highlights:
Lobster and crab wrapped in skate wing, lobster emulsion
Goat cheese soufflé with porcini mushrooms
Boneless breast of pheasant wrapped in mushrooms, pancetta, huckleberries
Elk tenderloin over red wine risotto, juniper berries
Cheese course with chocolate mignardises
These dishes only hint at what will be on your plates as we start with a classic white bordeaux by Lynch Bages, then we sample and compare Lynch Bages from 2012, 2005, 1996 and 1982, followed by the Haut Bages Averous 1985. Register for this dinner as soon as you can, it is going to be amazing.
