The Fairmount Boathouse, completed in 1904, is the home of the premier masters rowing club in the region. The structure is grand, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. On this day we will have the club all to ourselves as we begin with bubbly or lavender lemonade on the deck overlooking the Schuylkill River, the Art Museum and the Philadelphia skyline! Or, bring your own beverage to kick off the afternoon, since the picnic is always BYOB. And don't worry about rain, we have indoor space too.
Our theme this year is the cuisine of Provence, which is perfectly suited to a beautiful late spring day. Your caterer, Catering by Design, is one of the area's most thoughtful and creative. Executive Chef Roth Perelman has studied under Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Jean-Marie Lacroix, to name a few.
Our menu includes such classics as cheeses from France, pate and charcuterie to start during the reception. After, dine on tuna nicoise, vegetable and tomato jam tarts, roast chicken with brie, all manner of salads, then dessert tarts, mousses and pastries. Bring a favorite rose or anything you like to pair with this festive spread!
Parking can be a challenge on boathouse row so we have removed the hassle by including Valet parking in the price of the event! Please plan to arrive between 1:30 and 2pm, as doors will open at 2pm. Dress is resort casual, shorts of course are permitted, and also if you like, sport a nautical theme! Bring a guest or two if you like and tell them to bring a bottle too.
