Last year on this very date we had an impromptu gathering in Savona's wine cellar, a private room that seats only 20 around one very large and beautiful oval boardroom table. This intimate room reminds one of important dinners conducted in secrecy, far from the cares of the outside world. It was so fun and successful that we thought we would do it again!
Chef Andrew Masciangelo is preparing another custom menu for us and is always excited to receive the Chaine. We are finalizing the menu and it will most likely consist of a hearty and uniquely prepared winter soup, a seafood course, followed by a meat course in keeping with the season, and a lovely sweet dessert to finish.
We will provide an excellent chardonnay from our own cellar, as well as a beautifully aged Barolo, among other appropriate wines.
The good news is that if turnout is well above 20 people, Savona has agreed to reserve the night after for us as well! When you sign up, please indicate if you are flexible as to either December 11 or 12 and we will keep track of everyone to ensure that no one is left out! So bring a friend or two this year, we will have room for them.
Join us for some sparkling wine at 6pm, a short ceremony at 6:15 (it's a secret) then dinner at 6:30. Those who know Savona know that the restaurant is right off the Schuylkill and they have their own parking lot. Dress is business casual with ribbons and feel free to be festive for the holiday season!
