If you haven't registered for either night please consider this night and support a chef who means a lot to us, his restaurant is closed and we have an opportunity to show our support.
Many of us have started to take a chance with takeout, but it isn't the same as a Chaine experience or a restaurant experience, and we have sorely missed both.
Dining-in so far has been socially distanced, almost exclusively outside and most restaurants have a severely limited menu. Prices for food have increased substantially, pork is up 70%, eggs are up 40% for example, but most of us can still get the food we want albeit at crazy prices.
The Chaine is about a unique experience, it is about good friends who want to share each other's company. It is about an evening you simply cannot get anywhere else. It is about good times, good food, an escape from the craziness of life especially right now.
Your Delaware Valley Board has figured out a way to provide something unique, special, socially safe and we are excited to present this to you. A superb dinner in a safe environment with your Chaine friends. A dinner that transcends what you can get in a restaurant with strangers. A dinner outside in a splendid garden with tables far apart, prepared by an incredible chef who has already hosted us in his now sadly closed restaurant. A dinner among flowers, a beautiful pool, wine you bring to share, a setting that is private and two degrees cooler than everywhere else in the surrounding area.
No matter how safe you are practicing right now, we will meet or exceed the standards recommended by all authorities regarding Covid 19. In inclement weather we will dine distanced in 4 or 5 separate rooms. A few more items to note to make us all more comfortable. We will supply all of you with a guest list and ask you if you would like to be seated 2, 4, or 6 people at a table and who if anyone is in your safe circle. We will have a "Checkpoint Charlie" to take peoples' temperatures at the door. If you feel sick, please cancel and we will do our best to refund people as late as we can. Please bring a mask but you can certainly remove it when seated.
Ellen and Matt are pleased to host you at our residence for a backyard bistro event, presented to you by Rich Cusack, the chef/owner of June BYOB where we held an amazing event earlier this year. Chef Richard has an impressive French culinary background, and has trained in top French restaurants such as Bibou, Daniel NYC, Le Bec Fin, Parc Rittenhouse and Le Cheri. He also staged at Michelin star restaurants in Paris, France. He will be preparing your dinner on this night, with a twist. It will be a la Carte! You will be able to choose between 2 appetizers, 2 mains, and 2 desserts.
We already have the menu, so when you confirm your reservation, we will email you privately to get your choices. Below is the menu, with the bubbly that we will pour complimentary. The rest of the wines are your choice, as it is BYOB. If you forget to bring wine, we are confident someone will be able to help you. ;-)
Passed hors d'oeuvre with bubbly:
Little neck clams and mignonette
Marinated crab wrapped in crepe with creme fraiche
Boudin Blanc with cherry mustard
Appetizer:
Cold corn veloute with crab salad and heirloom tomato, or
Wood Pigeon terrine with cherry mustard, mixed greens and pickled carrots
Entree:
Grilled Swordfish, fennel, fava beans, Plum beaumaniere sauce, basil, or
Grilled Ribeye steak , potato gratin, zucchini, cherry tomato, snail butter
Dessert
Fresh slices cantaloupes with sorbet, or
Vanilla Cremeux with mixed berries
