Vida & Comida is owned and operated by Chef Manuel and Cindy Jimenez, who put their love and knowledge of Spanish cuisine into everything they do.  Born and raised in Spain, they have lived and worked in the United States for 25 years.  Their restaurant in Ambler is very popular but the cuisine is typically made for the American palate.  On this night however, they will serve authentic Spanish cuisine which your dinner committee has already tasted and we raved about it!

We were greatly impressed by the flavors of Chef Manuel who worked in close collaboration with Executive Chef Abde Dahrouch, who is a world-class chef born in Morocco, but raised and trained in FranceDuring his nine years at the helm of Pond in Radnor he won many accolades, including three bells by Craig LaBan and “Best of the Main Line” four years in a row.    Vida & Comida has graciously closed the restaurant just for us for this very special evening.

Here is a look at the menu.

Butlered hors d’oeuvre:

Rabas Fritas, fried squid with aioli dipping sauce

Pan Tomaquet con Jamon Iberico de Bellota, Iberico ham on crostini

Ajo Blanco Shooters, an almond-based gazpacho

3rd course: Marmitako de Atun, traditional Basque tuna stew

4th course: Pierna de Cordero Asada al Estilo Aragon, slow roasted herbed lamb with potatoes

Catalonia (Catalunya) is a small wine growing region in Northern Spain (it includes Barcelona) which boasts two wines you may heard of and several more you probably haven't.   Catalonia is home to Priorat, the complex and ageworthy Spanish red wine, and also Cava, that excellent bubbly.  And have you ever tried a white Priorat?  It is a lot like a white Rioja, also ageworthy, complex and delicious.  The wines we serve will be high-end representations of the region.  Come join us on this night to be transported to Spain and learn about the finest wines of the Catalonia region.  You won't want to miss this event!

There is plenty of inexpensive parking in the lot adjacent to the restaurant.
