The Roaring 20s. The Charleston dance. Prohibition and bookleg cocktails. And in April 1925, the publication of a book that defined that period: The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Join us on April 21 for a Great Gatsby inspired dinner at At The Table in Wayne. Co-owners and Executive Chefs Tara and Alex Hardy have created a menu just for us that evokes the 1920s but with their signature twist. They are amazingly talented and welcoming and this isn't our first dinner with them but it is at their new location!
Our beginning reception will feature two prohibition era cocktails- Bees Knees and a Side Car- with perfect classic passed hors d’oeuvre. The 5 course tasting menu will follow featuring appropriately decadent ingredients (Caviar! Truffles!) and paired with excellent wines. Come dressed in 1920’s attire (we will “dress” you if you forget your costume) and be prepared to party like it’s 1925!
At this time, we can divulge a few hints and wines.
Oysters on the half shell at the reception and more. Champagne if you can't bear a cocktail.
Vichyssoise with a twist. Classic dish but amped up. Paired with a wine from our friends from Matervini.
Crab cakes with two sauces and an excellent white burgundy.
Truffles, caviar, tenderloin of beef and more.
