If the last time you visited this zoo was several years ago, you are in for a HUGE surprise. With a very large endowment, the transformation is still going on, acres and acres will be added in the coming years. If you haven't visited a zoo since you were a child, now is the time!
Your Delaware Valley Chaine is pulling out all the stops for this picnic. We will start under a beautiful covered outdoor reception area and move into air conditioning for the main meal. Your price includes the price of admission to the zoo of course and you will be able to wander through the exhibits at your leisure.
Our Vice Conseiller Culinaire Joe Koye is catering this event. You know his cuisine is always amazing and perfectly executed. We also have a special chef guest and Del Val member, Elbert Johnston, who owns Miss Winnies, an authentic Jamaican restaurant in West Chester.
What better theme than Caribbean cuisine on a hot summer day! Joe will craft dishes from all over the Caribbean and Elbert will add a signature dish from Jamaica. As always, the picnic is BYOB but we will have some excellent bubbly and a few cellar gems to serve you as well. Maybe we will have a few Red Stripes and Caribs too?
And finally, we had so much fun dressing up for the Great Gatsby event that we are going to ask everyone to wear a shirt with either a Caribbean theme or an animal theme. Shorts of course are allowed, this is very casual!
